Do you need high school education to participate in dv lottery?

Malcom Bourek: You asked this yesterday and the answer is yes you need to have had a school education and make sure you are Legally allowed to apply meaning you do not come from a ineligible Country. To answer 1 the dv lottery is the Green Card lottery run by the US government on a annual basis making 50.000 Green Cards available to Natives of Countries with low rates of immigration to the US. Its not open to natives from Counties with higher rates of immigration that exceed 50.000 every 5 years....Show more

Todd Stogner: The US government wants to make sure that the newly picked immigrants have at the very least the minimum skills to get a minimum-wage job, which, frankly, does not pay enough to survive on.Thus, they want the equivalent of 12 years of school or at least 3 years experience in a job that requires a formal training. Basically, at the interview you'll have to show that your knowledge or skills are equal or better than those of a typical US High School ! graduate who typically is dumb like a piece of driftwood....Show more

Hong Hunkin: Yes. You must be at least a high school graduate (UK-system educational equivalent is A-levels, not O-levels or AS) to submit an application for DV Lottery. But do note that if you only have a high school education, your chances of finding any job are poor (if you ever won that lottery & passed the interview, etc). Your chances of earning enough to survive are even worse. Currently, it takes an average of just over 40 weeks for experienced workers to find another job in their field. The days of finding a job within a month of landing in US are long gone....Show more

Hwa Waterford: read the ruleshttp://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/type...

Jannie Ariola: you need a high school diploma to qualify for the Diversity Visa. However, as long as you have one by the time you are actually interviewed, that's good enough.
