Andra Oger: yamaha. i have a home system with yamaha speakers, sounds great. the subwoofer is unbelievable. i owned sony equipment off and on for the past 30 years. everything i buy from them is garbage. i would not recommend them for anything. but the final decision is what your ears like.
Ollie Desalvo: $300 is just not going to get you a home theater system for a big room. Sony makes good TV's, but their audio stuff is very poor. Yamaha's low-end stuff isn't much better. Paradigm makes great speakers, and you can get a 5 channel speaker system for a very reasonable price (~$800). You also need a receiver to go with it, so it'll end up totaling about $1,150.
Phillip Modafferi: that's a close call. I know both brands do well on sound equip. I'd give the edge to yamaha because they're known for their sound stuff (amps, guitars, pianos etc) and sony is know for electronics. now that I have thought about it a minute:I'd definately go with the yamaha just bec! ause of the receiver....Show more
Kiersten Clayburn: ID GO YAMAHA,SOME OF THE SONY RECEIVERS FROM A FEW YEARS BACK WERE PRETTY GOOD BUT NOW DAYS ID GO YAMAHA, GOOD POWER ,CRISP SOUND.
