Jade Ohno: There is no bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, only an Associate's degree after 2 years. A degree in dental hygiene will also NOT give you any advantage in being accepted into dental school but good grades in a 4 year college with a bachelor's degree will.
Oren Eskelsen: A bachelor's in hygiene is not recommended. Hygiene doesn't lead to dentist. You need to take the necessary prerequisites for dentistry including 1 year gen chem w/ lab, 1 year gen bio with lab, 1 year organic chem w/ lab, 1 year physics w/ lab, 1 semester biochem w/ lab, calc, and other higher level science courses like microbiology, physiology, gross anatomy, cell biology, immunology, embryology.
