Toshiko Reimers: If you've saved juice can lids you can cut Christmasy pictures or papers to fit in the circle. Glue on a ribbon to hang on the tree, or glue a small magnet for the back to put on your fridge.Trace baby's hand and feet prints and put in the can lids or put 2 of them back to back, embellish the edge and glue on a ribbon.
Delora Struzzi: Check out http://familycrafts.about.com They have tons of holiday crafts for the family. Most are geared towards children.
Chet Nozick: Well my Granddaughter came home with the cutest thing ever. So simple, just a little bag of Oats, some glitter and grass or hay. All mixed together in a little decorated bag, and then on Christmas Eve. You take it out side and sprinkle it on your lawn to guide Santa's reindeer.
Lolita Deschamp: MAKE, BAKE, AND DECORATEThis is an excellent recipe for homemade ornaments. The dough is very easy to work with, and once baked the ornaments are very firm and easy to paint.INGREDI! ENTS1 cup salt2 cups flour1 cup water2 tablespoons vegetable oilwater-based paintsPlace dry ingredients in a bowl, add the water and oil, then stir until blended. Once the dough holds together, make it into a ball and knead it with your hands to make a smooth texture. Place the dough on a cutting board, and using a rolling pin, roll the dough out into a pancake shape that is a bit thicker than you would use for regular cut-out cookies. Cut out the ornaments with cookie cutters, design your own ornaments using a blunt knife, or shape dough with your fingers. Punch or carve a hole into the top of the ornament to thread a string through to hang the decoration.Bake at 250 degrees until hard (for one to two hours).Once cooled, paint with water-based paints if desired, or glue on glitter using white household glue. Thread a string or ribbon through the hole and hang the decoration on the tree or elsewhere in your home. These ornaments can be reused year after year.I just made 10 ! ornaments with my 4 year old nephew.. he loved it and it's his! gift to everyone at our Christmas gathering...hope this helps!...Show more
