how can i make a board game for history !?

Coleman Ocegueda: It sounds like your teacher wants you to demonstrate why the Europeans colonized Africa. I would suggest you do this:Have a map board that is the map of Africa. Divide it into different regions. Then have the players be different European powers (Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Portugal). Assign each European power a need, and each African region resources to meet that need. For example, I would assign each region values for oil, rubber, slaves, minerals, gold, exotic values (like foods like bananas), and strategic value. Give each European country a base value in each resource, on a scale of 1 to 10, based upon their national standing and needs; and then give values to each region for each resource. For each region the Europeans conquer, they get the value of the region added to their country's value in that resource. The European power with the most resource values at 10 or above wins. For example, assign Britain and Germany the strategic v! alue of 2, since they are the farthest away from Africa, but assign the strategic values of 4 to Morocco and Egypt (because of the Suez Canal and Gibraltar) and 8 to South Africa, so they can easily import goods around Africa. Do a little research and find out what each area the Europeans controlled, and for what reason. You can use the pieces from a risk game to symbolize the European powers forces. Draw up rules for combat between powers that contest the same region. Email me at rckoeppel@msn.com if you need more help....Show more

Trena Berum: You can make the board game with spaces that take you through the continent. The board will be a map of the countries. You can then have every 3rd space or so represent picking up a game card. The cards will all contain a fact about the history of colonization along with take another turn move ahead 1 or two spaces, skip another players turn and so on. (also have the player read the card out loud) . You can use a single dice or! (die) to move in your game so as they play they learn the his! tory....Show more

Bernadette Roel: Good ideas so far. You could also incorporate a time line into your board so that you convey what happened during different periods of history.

Rivka Killmer: Heyy (:Are you from Guam?cause were doing the exact same thing ;Pmm, monopoly?snakes & ladders? _goodluck ♥...Show more
